Wine Tours in Moravia

Wine Tours

Moravian Wine Trails has almost 1,250 km of cycling and hiking trails through orchards, vineyards and wine cellars of South Moravia. Ten loops featuring local wine types and wine cellar architecture provide access to unique cultural heritage and viniculture.

Wine Tour Options

You can simply visit a wine cellar on one of your hiking or cycling trips. They are everywhere; as soon as you hit on the wine-path symbol - the silhouette of a cellar - you know you are on the right track. The trails zigzag through the wine lands, turning to observation points, going down streets in the cellars settlements and connecting many famous  wine communes.

Our favourite part though is the well-established custom of the wine makers,  who will be more than happy to share their love of wine with you and let you taste some of their products. We can of course provide you with some tips or even pre-arrange your visit, if you wish.

If you are looking for more than a short visit with a glass of wine there are other options:
Evening in a wine cellar – tailor made to your preferences

  • Suitable for groups (min. 4 people)
  • With tasting of wines from the cellar’s production, followed by consumption of the selected wines throughout the evening
  • Different types of typical local food can be arranged. The menu can include different kinds of cold plate food (cheese, sausages, vegetable etc.), or full hot dinner.
  •  It is possible to include a folklore music program

Guided tours with wine tasting

  • Suitable for any number of people
  • Organized in bigger wine cellars where the visitors will be shown around the cellars and get information about the history of the cellar and wine making in the region. As a part of the tour there is tasting session of the local wine production.
Special events:
  • South Moravia region is very keen on its tradition  and culture and keeping them alive. Throughout the season there is a number of folklore events, some dedicated to wine (mainly Aug-Sep), but all of them connected to wine production in one way or another.
  • We will happily guide you to the right one depending on the time of your visit
